The 2020 pandemic has caused losses to many churches, including the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. The church decided to move its services from its 9,000-seat sanctuary to the smaller 900-seat Lindsay Memorial Auditorium on the smaller downtown campus. In order to facilitate the downsizing, the church commissioned Paragon 360 to help renovate the space. The $1.8 million investment is now catering to multicultural and multi-generational events and audiences.

The project includes the demolition of the inner rear area and the basic renovation of the shelter. The refurbishment of the sanctuary includes replacing the auditorium carpet, painting the benches on the ground floor, adding new toilets and creating a new modular choir loft. The Paragon team also modernized the audio, video, and lighting systems to enhance the ability to broadcast mixed services and shows.

After conducting a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the room's audio and acoustic characteristics, Paragon upgraded the existing audio system and added a lot of acoustic work throughout the venue. In addition, Paragon has added its iconic monitoring system to choirs, orchestras, praise teams and first-line singers. Paragon's choir monitor system is designed with near-field technology, and smaller monitors are installed throughout the choir. This technique greatly reduces the overall volume required for each choir member to hear their customized monitor mix. All three monitoring systems work together to provide each musician with the correct mix and reduce the stage volume to provide clarity and control.

The existing lighting system was updated, including new LED lighting equipment, data distribution equipment and hardware. The most prominent part of the new stage design is the addition of Uniliumin LED walls, which are used as IMAG screens on the left and right sides, and are driven by NovaStar processing. An additional Uniliumin LED wall is custom-installed on the front side of the choir wall to create a virtual image behind the presenter.

The newly renovated Lindsay Memorial Auditorium of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville is ready for the future. With the modular choir loft and central stage LED wall, the space has been well used for contemporary and traditional worship, children and youth programs, and special events.
